(Kaihen) is a Canadian consulting firm based in Toronto, Ontario that helps electric, water & gas utilities, home services companies, energy retailers and municipalities prepare for fundamental business changes that improve operations and customer service. Kaihen applies its unique Advisory and Transformation business readiness approach to three categories that align with the functions of our client’s businesses. They are Customer Experience, Outage Management, and Asset Management.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Client Project Work
-
Report to Kaihen project manager on client engagements
-
Support Utility solution assessment, business case development, evaluation, and selection services on client engagements
-
Responsible for business readiness services (i.e. business process design, business requirements, solution testing, user training, and change management and cutover & operations readiness) and deliverables on the project

Develop project deliverables based on the scope of work

Strive to exceed client expectations regarding project timeliness, quality, and budget
2. Industry Research
-
Research key industry topics, support Kaihen’s Point of View, and prepare briefings for the team
-
Ongoing research for client opportunities using client websites, direct contact, procurement websites, and by attending industry conferences
-
Facilitate market-wide benchmarking studies for key topic areas
-
Utility software vendor and product market scans
-
Competitor analysis of consulting sector
3. Develop Methodologies & Manage Kaihen’s Knowledge Repository

Assist in the development and continuous improvement of firm methodologies

Help manage the firm’s knowledge repository of intellectual property, project deliverables, consultant resumes, client proposals, and marketing materials

4. Client Proposals
​

Client proposals – assistance with proposal content, leveraging past proposal material, formatting, proofing, consolidating information, soliciting feedback, final packaging & delivery

Participate in the delivery of client presentations

Development of internal documents
​Qualifications:
-
3-6 years’ experience as a management consultant with proven success and accomplishments
-
Understanding of or previous working experience with electric, gas, or water Utilities in Ontario or other Canadian jurisdictions
-
Understanding of or previous working experience in benchmarking, business process design, business requirements, solution testing, user training, change management and/or operations readiness
-
Business analysis skills are mandatory, Systems analysis skills are nice-to-have

Understanding of or previous working experience in billing, metering, credit and collections (meter to cash) and/or engineering and utility operations

Understanding of or previous working experience with customer information systems, customer portals, outage management systems, asset management systems and/or meter data management systems

Previous working experience working closely with client project teams and business users

Analytical, proactive, disciplined, hard-working, and self-starter

Able to work in an unstructured, virtual environment

Business acumen, emotional intelligence, and effective communication

Excellent interpersonal skills
